Your captivating evening begins when your Mariano Travel coordinator picks you up from your hotel in Aswan. You will head to the marina to embark on a short, scenic motorboat ride. Gliding across the dark waters of the Nile toward the island of Agilkia, you will see the majestic, illuminated silhouette of Philae Temple rising from the water—a truly unforgettable first impression.
The Walk Through the Legends:
Upon arriving at the island, the immersive Sound and Light Show begins. You will walk through the brilliantly lit temple courtyards, guided by dramatic voices and sweeping music. The narration vividly brings the ancient world to life, recounting the powerful myth of Isis, Osiris, and their son Horus.
A Tale of Survival and History :
As you take a seat for the grand finale overlooking the lake, the show delves into the temple's fascinating modern history. You will hear how this incredible structure was nearly lost forever beneath the waters created by the Aswan High Dam, only to be saved by a massive, heroic rescue operation led by the Egyptian government and UNESCO. You will also learn about the temple's immense historical significance, marking the twilight of the Ancient Egyptian religion and serving as the home to the last known hieroglyphic inscription, carved in 394 AD.
Return to Aswan :
After the breathtaking finale, you will board your motorboat for a peaceful return ride across the Nile, followed by a comfortable transfer back to your hotel by your Mariano Travel coordinator
