Overview
Enjoy a day tour to the temples of Abu Simbel from Aswan. The two temples were built by king Ramses II, one for him and the other for his wife.
Itinerary
After you have your breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by Mariano Travel to start your adventure. The drive is about 3 hours. The two temples were built by Ramses II who ruled for about 67 years. Both, rock-cut temples, marking the power and strength of the king which extended to the southernmost borders of Egypt. They were under the water after the construction of the Dam and then being saved by the cooperation between the Egyptian Government and the UNESCO. You can see, in the guest center, real videos and photos for the steps of the temple rescue which was peeled and cut into pieces, then assembled in higher level, 65 m high and 200 m backwards. The most important scenes depicted on the walls of the great temple are those of the battle of Qadesh which ended by the oldest recorded peace treaty in history. Then pay a visit to the small temple dedicated to his most beloved wife Nefertary.
After the unforgotten memory, your guide will drive you back to your hotel at Aswan
